What Is BHT?
BHT is commonly referred to as Body Hair Transplant. In this type of transplant hair from different parts of the body like chest, beard (cheek) is used. This treatment is commonly referred to chest hair transplant as hair from the chest is normally used for transplant. Procedure of BHT-
The procedure for BHT starts off by counseling from the surgeon. The patient is evaluated to see if he fits into the category for body hair transplant. After a thorough evaluation, FUE procedure is carried out and hair is extracted from the donor area and transplanted into recipient area.
Steps of BHT treatment –
- First of all the patient is analyzed for his/her situation to see the extent of the baldness.
2. Photographs of the entire scalp region is taken in order to analyze postoperative results.
3. Identification of donor and recipient area is done which in this case is different parts of the body to see if the patient fits into the category of body hair transplant.
4. Administration of local anesthesia is done to ease the pain.
5. Extraction of hair from donor area is done with FUE procedure.
6. Extracted hair is transplanted into recipient area.
