Hair transplant treatment is a technique where the hair follicles are transplanted from one part of the body to other which is usually scalped of the person. The hair is transplanted from one part which is called the donor site to another part such as scalp which is called as recipient site. Hair transplant is different from skin grafting where the dermis and epidermis surrounding the hair is also removed.

Types of hair transplant:
Due to developments in medical science, it is easy to treat baldness now. Various types of transplant treatment are available now which includes:
1) FUE: FUE is commonly referred to as Follicular Unit Extraction. In FUE treatment hair follicles in a group of 1 to 4 hairs are removed under local anesthesia, it is removed with the help of tiny punches of diameter between 0.6 mm and 1 mm. Using micro blades or fine needles the recipient site is punctured and hair follicles are placed. The procedure can take anywhere from a couple hours to extract 200 grafts for a scar correction to a surgery over two consecutive days for a mega session of 2,500 to 3,000 grafts.
2) FUT: Follicular Unit transplant is a traditional method which involves extracting a linear strip of tissue bearing hair usually from the back of the head (donor site) and then individually separating the grafts.
