What Is Pigmentation?
Pigmentation in layman’s term means coloring. In this skin disorder coloring of the skin takes place. Melanin is responsible for coloring of the skin. There are special cells in the skin
that produce melanin. When these skin cells become damaged or unhealthy it affects melanin production and can be seen as patches on the skin called as pigmentation. Pigmentation occurs in two types: light and dark. Depending on the melanin production light or dark patches take place.
Causes of pigmentation:
